INTRODUCTION
Help! Your expertise is needed immediately! The evil Dr. Gray and his Dechromatizer have set out to drain the color from fine art everywhere. It’s up to you to stop them.................

THE TASK
Your task is to learn about color and the color families. You will create an art work to be included in the Nashua-Plainfield Art Museum using what you learn about color.

Here are your jobs:

Note Taker

During your adventure you will learn many things about color. You will want to keep track of all the colorful information by taking notes.

Tour Guide

You will navigate through the program by using the computer.

Artist

You will create an art piece using what you learn about color.

Art Reporter

You will visit the Nashua-Plainfield Art Museum and pick out a favorite piece to report on for the Husky newspaper. You will tell and discuss about the artists color choices.

PROCESS

  1. Choose a partner to work with.
  2. Visit the Sanford ArtEdventures web site www.sanford-artedventures.com/index.html.
  3. One member will have the role of note taker while the other one is the tour guide who will navigate you through the adventure.
  4. After two paintings have been dechromatized, switch roles with your partner. The note taker will be the tour guide and the tour guide will now be the note taker.
  5. After completing the adventure, make sure all the information has been filled in on your note taking sheet. You can revisit the site.
  6. You will choose a favorite part you learned about color on your adventure.
  7. Each person will create their own art work using that color theory. You can use paint, construction paper, markers, etc.
  8. We will hang them in the N-P Art Museum (Art room).
  9. Look at all the works hanging in the N-P Art Museum and find a favorite piece you like. Using the Art Reporters sheet, talk about your favorite piece.


ASSESSMENT
You will be evaluated on your group participation, note taking content, art project and your report.

CONCLUSION
What did you learn about color? How have artists used color in their works to convey their message or feelings? After completing this artedventure, hopefully you have learned more about color and you will be more sensitive to color when you look at an art piece.
