State Track

The Huskies had three events run on the first day of action at the State Track Meet. Callie Matthews finished in 6th place in the 3000 meter run with a time of 10:57.05. Kevin Klobassa finished in 15th place in the 3200 meter run with a time of 10:14.68. The 4x800 team of Matt Sharp, Nate Masters, Kory Klingman, and Drew Dietz finished in 17th place with a time of 8:32.55. The Huskies still have 3 events remaining with the Distance Medley Team (Ryan Siefken, Taylor Wedeking, Nate Masters, and Drew Dietz) running on Friday at noon and Callie Matthews running in the 800 meter run Saturday at 9:00 A.M. and the 1500 meter run Saturday at 2:00.

Girls Golf - District Champions!
Advance to Regionals

The NP Girls golf team captured the girls district golf tournament at Hampton on Monday, May 14th. The Huskies pulled out the 4 stroke victory with a 411 team total to best runnerup Hampton-Dumont's 416 team total.

Freshman Sarah McMichael gathered the medalist honors with a round of 91. Bethany Lehman added a 93 for runnerup honors. Kaitlin Koob chipped in a 104 total. Kayla Dietz's 123 rounded out the NP girls scoring.

By virtue of their victory, the golfers qualify for next Monday's regional tournament at Emmetsburg for a chance to earn a trip to the state golf tournament.

History Day Results

Congratulations to Jeanne Edson, Katie Karels, Madeline Skilton, Stephaine Mulvey, and Brittany Murphy. These five students have qualified for the National History Contest held in College Park, Maryland in June. In the state competition, Nashua-Plainfield finished second overall.

Update to Notify Me!
Text Messaging Now Available

Text messaging has been added to the Notify Me! notification system from rSchool. rSchool is the system the Corn Bowl Conference is using for athletic scheduling. In the past for those signed up for Notify Me!, they received email reminders of upcoming events and also email notifications when athletic events were changed, postponed or cancelled. Text messaging capabilities have just been added as another option for reminders and notifications. Notify Me! is free to sign up. To sign up, go to the School Calendar link above and then click on the blue Notify Me! in the upper right of the calendar page. For those already signed up, they will need to log in and update their account to begin receiving text notifications and reminders.

Chiropractic Connections will be offering athletic physicals May 14th-18th for $20.00. If interested contact the office @ 641-435-2102 to schedule a time. Chiropractic Connections is open Mondays and Wednesdays from 8:00-12:00 and 2 p.m.- 6 p.m. Friday's hours are 8-noon.
